UHaul's U-Box, a ridiculous attempt at Mobile Storage

UHaul seems to be making a foray into the mobile storage market. Their latest venture shows once again that they value profit over customer service or safety. They have basically taken plywood boxes that are approximately the size of a small walk in closet. They then cover the plywood with a thick vinyl that zippers open and shut.

Is anyone actually going to rent something any criminal with a pocket knife could break into? Well if you do and someone breaks into it, let us know what UHaul says. According to their contract, they aren't responsible for any loss even if the box is sitting in their parking lot before its delivered.

Warning about iLocal Hits AKA Local Hits Media

So a representative calls and promises that within a very short period of time, they can have you at the top of Google Maps for at least 3 out of 5 keywords you provide. They only charge about 100 bucks a month and there is no contract.

Of course that sounded great to the moving company that sent us this warning.

"I have an experience I wanted to share with Local Hits Media, they also call themselves iLocal Hits. They called and their salesman promised a lot of things about getting us on the first page of Google Maps for several different keywords. He also promised to do it in just a few weeks and for less than $100 a month.

It sounded to good to be true so I began to look into how they did it. I realized they take over your Google listing and do a lot of things that may not be exactly honest to increase your listings. If I ever wanted to cancel with them I could possibly lose everything, including access to my account. I also realized that many of the reviews that seemed to come after they "promoted" a company looked faked. I asked them about 10 questions and specified that they respond in writing. That is when I knew something was fishy.

The salesman began calling and would not directly answer my questions. I asked him several times not to call again until he put everything in writing. He continued to call and I finally had to contact his supervisor. The supervisor apologized and then he tried to sign me up but still would not answer my questions in writing. I then stated I was no longer interested. Shortly after the salesman began to send nasty emails all of which I have forwarded to you.

I finally filed a complaint with the BBB and iLocalHits Media responded by threatening to sue me for telling people what they had done. Just last week the salesman emailed us. Said we had gotten him fired so he took our personal info and correspondence with his company so now he was going to sue us.

I stumbled across your website and thought other moving companies should know to avoid them."

We asked and this moving company was never sued by iLocal Hits or the salesrep. Thanks guys, they definitely sound like a company who needs to get their act together.

While there are two sides to every story, we reviewed the emails that were forwarded to us. They are mean spirited and definitely unethical. iLocal Hits also has a number bad reviews online. If you have any experience with Local Hits Media, leave a comment.

Movex Roles out New Affiliate Program

Movex is a nationwide, self load service. They deliver a semi trailer to your home for you to load and unload. Often they combine loads (with a bulkhead in between loads) so that they can reduce the costs for the families sharing a trailer.

Evidently they are partnering with moving labor services to offer an alternative to traditional long distance moves. Several moving labor brokers are now offering to book a move for you through Movex.

While we like Movex and the service they offer, we have never had a high opinion of moving labor brokers. Brokers often increase the cost of a move and connect families to companies they have little or no real knowledge of. If you are looking for a full service mover or just moving labor, you are better finding them yourself locally and checking out their reviews online before giving your money to anyone.
