Alberta inmates with H1N1 flu symptoms prompt Bowden Institution lockdown


Health authorities are investigating and visits have been suspended at Bowden Institution’s medium security unit, Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) officials said Monday.CSC said a lockdown was put in place at about 8 p.m. Saturday as a precautionary measure after “some inmates showed symptoms associated with influenza A/H1N1.”The CSC is working with health authorities and normal operations will resume when the situation is resolved, CSC said.The Bowden Institution is a medium security prison located about 110 kilometres north of Calgary.More to come.
