Police incident in Penticton

PENTICTON — Some Penticton residents were wondering what was going on following a heavy police presence downtown.According to witnesses, police had a section of Martin Street closed.Corey Hounslow of Valley Ink. Tattoo says police told him to close up shop.His business is located at the corner of White Avenue and Martin Street.“I saw two cop cars pull up followed by two more cops in plain-clothes and they told me to close up shop. That I wasn’t going to be open today.”Hounslow says police were hiding behind police cruisers and telephone poles — focusing their attention on a nearby building.He says police have since left the area and that Martin Street is open to traffic again.
