Dare2Draw, a nonprofit artists mentoring and networking platform, has announced a live studio chat to take place on May 20, 2016, at YouTube. Tom Palmer, artist, colorist, painter and renowned inker to legendary comics artists, will give an intimate chat on a life and career in comics. Dare2Draw brings together artists of all levels to inspire and create, and to find and spotlight new talent.
Space is limited to 10-15 people. The Dare2Draw Studios Chat will be held at the Google YouTube Space NY. Palmer, inker to the stars and an advertising expert who has illustrated and painted various ad campaigns, including for Panasonic and Hertz, has been an invaluable asset to many iconic comic titles. He has worked on several Marvel projects including Doctor Strange, X-Men: The Hidden Years, Incredible Hulk, Wolverine and more. Tom has also worked with DC Comics, IDW and Valiant.
Dare2Draw provides events, projects and chats, as unique opportunities for artists and cartoonists to connect in a supportive environment. Activities include contests and prizes in a game show type setting. New artists are continuously showcased.
“In the exciting and competitive world of comic books and cartoons, networking and exposure are the most important tools for new and established talent,” said Charles D. Chenet, Founder and Executive Director of Dare2Draw. “Participants get to connect, hear lectures from industry professionals, and ask questions at Dare2Draw events and delve into topics such as scripting, comic book panels, figure/gesture drawing, anatomy, and painting using various techniques and media.”
