There’s No Place Like Home for Golden State

Though the Warriors have played exceptionally well against the NBA’s better teams, Kerr has been utilizing his deep bench to avoid wearing out his starters in such games.

“Maybe one word”, Lacob said afterwards, only slightly disappointed by the experience. They would be two of just four free throws the Warriors would shoot in the entire first half.
As was the case last week, the Thunder held a fourth-quarter lead before the Warriors rallied.
Golden State is looking to tie Chicago’s National Basketball Association record with a 44th straight regular-season home win. Asked before the game to assess the amount of pressure his team was facing in its effort to extend its home-court winning streak, Warriors coach Steve Kerr blurted, “Zero”. Both players rocked sneakers they’ve been wearing all season-Davis balled in the Nike Air Max Audacity while Duncan went with his stalwart, the adidas Crazy Quick.
“You combine that with winning a championship”. It’s a blessing to be on this team.
The Thunder had built a nine-point lead in the third quarter at 80-71 before the Warriors began to click on offense.
That gave the Warriors an 89-83 lead with 10:52 remaining.
Durant at times looked like he could single-handedly win this game.
“It’s an fantastic accomplishment and special for our fans”, Curry said.
-The Warriors will have enough salary flexibility to sign him (it would take a whole lot of off-loading for the GSWs to do it, but they can do it)… and they probably won’t have that same flexibility for a very long time after this. Let someone else shine without trying to bring them down. He dropped 10 first quarter points on 4/8 shooting.
A three-point play by Westbrook at the 6:02 mark got the Thunder back within 99-97, before Golden State took command for good with its decisive spurt.
It’s now readily apparent that the Warriors can get those big wins even when they’re not at their best.
So the question becomes: When will the Warriors ever lose at Oracle-or anywhere-again? The Warriors have won 43 consecutive home games and are vying to tie the all-time mark of 44 straight, set by the Chicago Bulls from March 30, 1995 through April 4, 1996. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Draymond Green get a break soon, especially since next week’s schedule is not particularly challenging.
The Thunder have now lost six of their past eight games ever since coming back from the All-Star Break, including twice in a week to these Warriors.
“I’m frustrated”, he said.
“I’m happy that we’re going through this because like I said it’s easy to be… we don’t want to be frontrunners”, Durant said.
For the sake of the game you would hope Curry and Iguodala are available, but the Warriors may be conservative with such important players. “When you hear, honestly, legends, kind of come at you, it’s kind of just weird“, he said. “And I mean that.”…
“I think that’s part of our success”.
