The Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday expelled a youth wing leader who had offered Rs 5 lakh for cutting off the tongue of JNU Students Union leader Kanhaiya Kumar.
Kanhaiya was arrested on 12 February on charges of chating anti-India slogans during an event on 9 February on JNU campus.
Even CPI national secretary D. Raja said there is a demand for Students leader in different parts of India.
If there’s one thing that Kanhaiya Kumar has achieved over the past month, it’s getting under the skin of the central government. “Please stop these sedition charges, gives us our fellowships and take moral responsibility for Rohith’s death and apprehend those who are responsible for his demise”, Kanhaiya said while addressing the mass gathering. “To enable him to remain in the mainstream, at present I am inclined to opt for the conservative method of treatment”, said Justice Pratibha Rani. “I am only a student”.
“JNU is an institution of global repute, enviable record and history”, he haid said. “According to me, Guru was a citizen of India and a resident of Jammu and Kashmir”.
Kanhaiya was arrested after an FIR was filed following complaints by BJP MP Maheish Girri and ABVP students over an event to protest the hanging of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru. These dark clouds can’t hide the red sun and the blue skies. “The more you try to suppress us, the higher we will rise… we are not asking for freedom from India, but asking for freedom in India”.
“Protecting our country and our culture is a challenge…” We have to make them realise that they are here for the whole country.
“Ask questions to the government”.
In the recent week we’ve heard many speeches, majority in Parliament, all of which started from a speech whose contents we’re still debating.
“We need to stand up against those who play with our Constitution”. “I also know what freedom means”.
“The sacrifice of our jawans and that of Rohith Vemula will not go in vain”. “I salute the soldiers martyred but also I salute, the farmers, the fathers and brothers of the same soldiers who are forced to commit suicide”, he said. He was subsequently arrested for chanting anti-national slogans and when he was produced in court, Kanhaiya was beaten and kicked by lawyers inside the courtroom.
