How Did This Astronaut Grow 2 Inches After Traveling To Space?

Sailed we have. For more than 50 years, we have explored those risky and unknown waters to become a leader in space: Mercury, Gemini, Apollo, Skylab, the space shuttle, the Hubble Space Telescope, the Mars rovers and the International Space Station – an orbiting base occupied for the past 15 years by an international crew.

Kelly, who has been to space several times for varying lengths of time, is open to a variety of ways for people to have a taste of what he’s done. Those normal activities and keeping himself task-oriented each day were key to maintaining his sanity, he said. “It makes you more of an environmentalist”, he said. It was the first flower ever grown in space.
Of the 450 investigations that took place on the ISS during Kelly’s mission, 18 were research on human reactions and functions. He landed back to Earth in Kazakhstan last Tuesday night.
John Charles, a scientist with NASA’s human research program, explained the objective of the twins study. Radiation also poses a major challenge for Mars missions, along the durability of astronauts’ bodies and minds.
After landing, Kelly was immediately carried to a medical field tent for testing and evaluation by flight surgeons.
“I could have gone longer on this flight is there was a good reason”, he said.
“Adjusting to space is easier than adjusting to Earth for me”, he said, noting that since his return his skin has been more sensitive.
“I’ve been very busy since I got back, so I don’t think it’s really hit me yet”, he said.
Kelly tested out the Microsoft HoloLens, an augmented reality device, on the Space Station, and he seems pretty into it. Kelly believes it is due to the fact that his skin hasn’t touched anything for such a long time. He said he would like to visit that region, though he would first need to learn “what country actually owns them”. NASA has said the phenomenon must be comprehended before humans can start exploration beyond Earth’s orbit.
But some space experts say that the asteroid exercise is futile and does not push technology far enough along to be of use to a future mission to Mars.
During his time in space, Kelly was a prolific user of social media and continues to post about what it’s like to be back on solid ground. His longtime girlfriend and NASA public affairs officer Amiko Kauderer worked on them as a project with him. It’s everything to us and important to our survival and the space station is a great vantage point to share our planet in pictures.
He was able to experience the Earth from perspectives not available to those confined to the surface below, stating that Earth’s atmosphere “looks very, very fragile” from space. “We do have an impact on that and the ability to change it if we make the decision to”.
The data NASA collects from Mr. Kelly, when he undergoes high-tech exams in the coming weeks, will be invaluable. Did you know that astronauts aboard the International Space Station (ISS) grow up to 3% taller? “There are many exciting opportunities out there, maybe in the commercial aspect”, he added.
“I am confident in saying that it will influence how we understand cancer”, Charles he said. “I think going to Mars, if it takes two years or two-and-a-half years, that’s doable”, he said. He also tweeted about pollution “riding up against” the walls of the Himalayas and suffocating the space over China.
