With so many flagship smartphones being released at MWC 2016 including the Samsung Galaxy S7 and LG G5, it’s easy to understand why some may overlook Lenovo’s latest smartphone offering. Two color options are available for the thin aluminum-based case: Champagne Gold and Platinum Silver.
The shape and finishing of the Vibe K5 Plus take some cues from the best (read: it looks a lot like an iPhone).
The Lenovo Vibe K5 and the K5 Plus are both the same size, which makes them pretty hard to differentiate.
The Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus is host to a 5-inch, 1080p screen and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor. If you prefer more area for reading ebooks and browsing, you should go for Vibe K5 Plus because it offers a Full HD resolution display, which means high pixel density.
Both devices have a 13-megapixel main camera with auto-focus and a fixed focus 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It measures 75.6Ã—9.9Ã—152.9mm, weighs 187 grams, and houses connectivity features such as NFC, USB OTG, FM Radio, A-GPS, Bluetooth v4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, and Wi-Fi Hotspot.
The bad news is that the K5 Plus runs Android 5.1, rather than Marshmallow.
Lenovo has come out with the Lenovo Vibe K5 and the Vibe K5 Plus during its event, which has been described as rather quiet, especially since other manufacturers have come to MWC with their big announcements and launches.
Lenovo showcased its newest Vibe K5 Plus handset at the Mobile World Congress, and it looks like a cocktail of affordability and entertainment. It is also backed by the same 2,750mAh battery unit. You’re also getting a 13MP rear camera, and 5MP front-facer. The speakers support Dolby Atmos technology and are two of them are mounted on the rear to provide stereo audio.
An even more affordable variant of the handset, called Lenovo Vibe K5 (or Lenovo K5) will sell for $129. It is powered by 2750mAh capacity battery, same as the Vibe K5. Plus, we preloaded a variety of productivity and social apps such as SHAREit, SNAPit, Guvera Music and so on for a seamless social sharing and streaming experience. At just 8.2mm thick and 142g, the device is indeed very light.
