ACC player of the year Myisha Hines-Allen had 27 points and 12 rebounds to lead Louisville, which was in a conference tournament semifinal for the fourth straight season dating to its time in the Big East.
It was a grinding game during which the score was tied on three occasions and the lead changed hands seven times.
End of the first quarter- Syracuse leads Louisville 21-14.
An exceptional perimeter shooting performance from Syracuse, finishing with a 45-percent conversion rate, made the difference in a physically-contested matchup against the Wolfpack.
A Louisville turnover, its 16th of the game, gave Syracuse the ball back and the Orange’s Cornelia Fondren hit a pair of free throws to regain the lead 74-73.

In Friday’s quarterfinal, Georgia Tech tested Louisville in the Cardinals’ eventual 10-point win.
The differential was enough to play, and eventually win with for the Cardinals as both teams played to an even 30-30 second half. “They were all among the best players”.
“I was proud of our kids”. It was the only basket by either team in the final 3 minutes until Imani Tilford hit a meaningless long 2 on the game’s final play. I think we are consistently getting better. “It was such a bang-bang play, so I couldn’t tell you for sure”. I thought we rebounded the ball well. You’ve seen that throughout the year. She’s a phenomenal talent. “She’s too good of a player to allow some missed shots to affect everything she does”. “She comes in every night and she plays tough”. I like this team. Halftime: Syracuse leads Louisville 39-33. While coach Jeff Walz is pleased with the season, he can get frustrated with his youngsters.
It’s been a season of ups and downs for the Syracuse Orange men’s basketball team.
But they got plenty of contributions to get through this one.

“We were just canning our shots on offense”, Mariano said. “(We) played with a lot of momentum. I think the lacrosse piece of this is coming. Nelson had nine points at the half for State. “We made some unfortunate turnovers down the stretch, but Detroit played well and kept battling back”. They got us in some foul trouble. “We were shooting really well, especially in the first and second quarters”.
