The Fox News Channel debate became a mud-throwing fracas with tensions mounting over the NY billionaire’s ascendancy and his drive to be the presumptive nominee should he win nominating contests in Florida and OH on March 15.
Romney said a Trump nomination would enable a Democratic victory for the party’s presumptive nominee Hillary Clinton.
This is the 11th debate for the Republican party candidates and Cruz, Rubio, and Kasich are running out of time if they want to take down front-runner Trump.
Mr Cruz, from Texas, said Mr Trump was part of the problem, not the solution, as he had used government power for private gain.
Romney has been attacking Trump for several days over his failure to release his taxes and other issues.
After going hand-to-hand with the entertainment show host, Trump said, “This is the problem with politicians”.
Trump proceeded to reverse a plank of his own immigration plan, saying he now supports an increase in visas for highly skilled foreign workers. Just when you thought this primary couldn’t go lower, Trump literally went below the belt. The Florida senator had called Trump’s hands “small” earlier in the week.
“If he’s short of that number, the first ballot will occur”, Mackowiak said.
Critics say Trump is selling snake oil, and contend that his policies are unworkable and even ridiculous.

I can not, I can not in good conscience vote for a person who has been as degrading and disruptive and unhinged as I’ve seen Donald Trump be.
RUBIO: All right, well, let’s hear it big Donald. Trump made a startling if veiled reference to his genitals as he hit back against Rubio for mocking the size of Trump’s hands.
“Nobody has ever hit my hands”, Trump said as the raucous crowd laughed and booed.
Trump also credited himself for being the reason that Romney decided not to run again in 2016, saying Romney ran a “horrible campaign” in 2012 that “demeaned 47 percent of the country”.
While Romney said that he will not vote for Trump in the general election, he said that he would not vote for Hillary Clinton if presented with that choice.
Trump suggested Romney’s speech was an act of revenge against Trump’s success.

Less than an hour later after Cruz’s appeal, the #NeverTrump strategy began to quickly crumble when moderator Bret Baier used the last question of the night to press each of Trump’s rivals on whether they would honor the GOP loyalty pledge they signed previous year and support Trump if he is the nominee.
