Finally, two of the United States carriers (T-Mobile and Verizon) got the technical approval from HTC to release the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to this model. Starting from March 7, T-Mobile will also be releasing the Android 6.0 upgrade for One M8 owners. After being envious of its siblings the LG G4 and LG G3 because they could be receiving the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to their devices, it should finally be G2’s turn in getting updated to the current times, right?
Waiting for Android updates for devices can be a long process, but at the moment there is plenty of update news.
Owner of older Samsung phones like the Galaxy S6, however, won’t have to worry.
According to AndroidPit, the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow has the best features, including Google Now on Tap and Doze. While other handsets from popular brands were updated to the software, Samsung galaxy Note 5 owners had to wait patiently for the update to arrive. Now there’s great news for the Galaxy Note 5 on Verizon as the 6.0.1 Marshmallow update has started to roll out for this carrier’s version. HTC’s Mo Versi has confirmed that One M8 users on the carrier are also getting Marshmallow.
However, users can expect, for the Xperia Z5 in particular that certain Sony and Google software features won’t be included in this update. You can also try checking manually by heading to System Settings followed by System Updates and Check for Updates. A separate report from Gotta Be Mobile states that the rollout is in Korea, but unlike the Galaxy S6 phones, the Note 5 has come to America, at least if you are a Verizon subscriber. One of which is the new Do not Disturb mode, which gives users the power to choose which apps or contacts can send notifications.
