Paul, Clippers storm past Mavs in 2nd half of 109-90 win


After losing back-to-back games to teams that will watch the playoffs on television, the Dallas Mavericks look to get back on track when they host the playoff-bound Los Angeles Clippers on Monday. He was coming off a 4-of-13 showing from the field in a loss to Atlanta, when the Clippers blew a 17-point lead.

The game was tied when Williams missed a layup with 16.8 seconds left in overtime.
Augustin finished with 12 points to help the Nuggets get payback after an overtime loss in Dallas on February 26.
The Clippers turned that into a 41-12 run extending into the fourth quarter.
On the season, Clippers are averaging at least 104.8 points, 42.8 rebounds and 22.7 assists per game. Chandler Parsons contributed 11 points and 11 rebounds. The 6-foot-11 center from Houston responded with a season high in points and even made most of his free throws (11 of 19) after delighting the crowd with an air ball in the first half.
Redick scored 10 first-quarter points on his way to 16 in the half. Will Barton added 20 points.
“It’s very clear that these games all come down to one play here or there”, Dallas coach Rick Carlisle said.
Dallas came into the matchup sitting in their locked-in 6th spot in the West with a 33-29 record.
But never one to let an opportunity for a big shot to go unchecked, Augustin nailed a 3-pointer with 28.8 seconds to go. Dallas shot 39 percent from the floor in the first half and that mark only dropped, finishing at 37.0 percent. Reserve forward David Lee also scored in double figures with 13 points, but on a less-than-efficient 4-of-11 shooting.
Kenneth Faried had 25 points and a season-high 20 rebounds and Will Barton scored 20 for the Nuggets, who rallied from four down in the last 10 seconds of regulation to force overtime and get the win.

Both teams went cold at the start of overtime before Nowitzki hit a 3-pointer with 2:03 left to give Dallas a 111-108 lead.
The man who spurned the Mavs to return to the Clippers last offseason was singing the “Sesame Street” theme song after putting up 23 points and 20 rebounds in a win that erased memories of a poor performance in November in his first game back in Dallas.
The Mavericks had their recent three-game winning streak snapped at home by the Kings but they should rebound nicely when they visit the Nuggets tonight at 5:00PM ET. F Luc Mbah a Moute missed a third consecutive game due to a left eye lid laceration…. The Mavericks opened as a 2.5-point favorite before the line was bet up a full point, while the total opened at 210 before climbing a half point.
