LaMarcus Aldridge had 26 points and Danny Green scored 11 for the Spurs, who trailed 86-84 before closing the game on a 12-0 run during the final 3:10.

Spurs coach Gregg Popovich was pleased with his team’s effort on defense after halftime. “They’ve done a great job of that”.
The San Antonio Spurs have won five consecutive games to build onto their tremendous season; the team now holds the second best record in the league and show no signs of giving it up.
San Antonio clinched its 19th straight playoff appearance, tying the Boston Celtics (1951-69) for the fourth-longest streak in National Basketball Association history.
The Spurs did not know and did not care about making the playoffs.
“He’s going more quickly than we ever would have imagined”, Popovich said.
Leonard and Aldridge excelled against a Detroit team thinned by injuries to forwards Anthony Tolliver and Stanley Johnson.
Previous low scores: The Pistons had their lowest-scoring game and half (30 points in the second half) of the season.
The Pistons averaged almost 23 assists per game during their recent winning streak. “We allowed 30 points in the second half”.
An off night: Reggie Jackson had 11 points and three assists in 31 minutes.
“We took a couple of tough shots at the end. It’s been a while I think since we did that good on the road trip; not even just the wins, but the way we played defensively and stuff like that”. Aldridge leads in rebounds with 8.4 while Parker tops in assists with 5.1 per game.
The result, as Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy said, is a personnel system unique in the National Basketball Association.
Marcus Morris and Tobias Harris had 16 points each for the Pistons (see full recap). The Spurs have won three of the last four in this series, including a 109-99 win in Detroit back on January 12. Former Spurs F Aron Baynes was cheered loudly when he entered the game. Drummond leads the league with 51 double-doubles. He is unsure when he will play, but the Spurs have five games in eight days beginning Sunday at home against Sacramento. However, San Antonio is yet to lose at home.
Bradley Beal’s 26-point haul helped the Washington Wizards beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 104-98 while the Indiana Pacers ended a three-match skid by toppling the Milwaukee Bucks 104-99. “Any good team you play, no matter who you are, if you come out here and make mistakes, they’re going to capitalize on it, and that’s what they did tonight”. Andre Drummond, who picked up two early fouls, finished with nine points and 14 rebounds.
The San Antonio Spurs would rather wait until the postseason to get the Real Manu Ginobili back. “I was very frustrated and emotional”, he said.
“I’m pretty sure that will happen”, said Ginobili.
“When I got back, I was surprised”, Parker said.
