Peyton Manning to Announce Retirement

Uncategorized

Manning, who played for both the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos in a career which spanned 18 years, is the NFL’s all-time leader in passing touchdowns (539), passing yards (71,940) and tied for regular season QB wins (186). “So you don’t need to wonder if I’ll miss it. Absolutely I will”. “So, it sure has been a pleasure”.

Really, there are not a lot of people surprised by this, especially considering how he’s been playing over the course of the past few seasons. “Because of that, I have no regrets”. “Today I retire from the game of pro football”. He has already been mentioned as a potential executive for the Titans and Browns. “Life is not shrinking for me”. Though he’s recently been slowed by injury and old age, he’s won two Super Bowls over his career and still holds records for the most games won, the most MVP records, and the most yards thrown by a quarterback.
Peyton Manning embodied what it meant to be a great quarterback/signal caller.
Elway says he’s “thrilled” that the Broncos were able to win a championship in Manning’s final year.
“He’s done everything a quarterback possibly can in the National Football League, nobody else can say that”, said Elway. “Peyton gives us a chance to win another World Championship”. “All the film study Peyton did and the process that he went through with game planning and understanding what the other teams did was second to none”.
“He was always about the team and doing whatever he could to get us a win”. Peyton revolutionized the game. “We all respected you as a person”, said Kubiak.
“This is the same store that sold out during the Super Bowl!”
Manning didn’t save his best for last – he had just 13 completions for 141 yards in Denver’s 24-10 win over the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50 on February 7.
“I know it was tough, and you were special along the way”, Kubiak said. He played 14 seasons for the Colts and earned two Super Bowl titles for them. “I’m very thankful Peyton chose to play for the Denver Broncos, and I congratulate him on his Hall of Fame career”. I know how hard it is to get there. I went hunting with (former Colts center) Jeff Saturday.
“Think about how long he’s been a great quarterback”.
Monday, to open the event Ellis simply called it “a historic day” and offered Manning had “made our team better, made our organization better and made our community better”. I remember watching him in pre-game, and at the time he was considered the best quarterback in the game. “I fought a good fight”.
Will he retire as a Colt or a Bronco?
But before that, Manning was a favorite son of the Tennessee Vols. From the moment he committed to the University of Tennessee in 1994 thanks to Phillip Fulmer and David Cutcliffe, Manning raised the expectations of Tennessee football.
