Holm, McGregor ready to fight at UFC 196

Holm will face Miesha Tate. The Stockton native has gone to a decision in six of his last ten fights and is surprisingly durable. She can proudly say she’s won both Strikeforce and UFC gold, and this win over Holm was simply phenomenal given how she seemingly had the fight won, then lost, then won again.

“I’m open to whatever he’s considering doing”, White said. “I don’t want to do anything because it’s more strategic”.
The line for the fight now at SBG Global has McGregor as a -450 favorite with Diaz currently sitting at +360.
Like most of UFC’s biggest events, as well as the biggest boxing fights EVER, UFC 196 takes place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
On the other hand, Holm is also a seller as she is -300 and -270 at Caesar’s Palace and 5Dimes while Tate has a +250 and +248, in that order. “So it just leads me to think that she might have great striking, but maybe a glass chin, too”.
“I think if [McGregor] wins impressively [Saturday], he doesn’t even go back to [145 pounds]”, the UFC President said on Friday in Las Vegas.
Mentally McGregor has a self-belief unmatched in the sport.
After knocking out Jose Aldo in merely 13 seconds to unify the featherweight belt, McGregor said he would not relinquish that strap if he pursued dos Anjos’ lightweight throne.
Diaz and Tate aren’t the only two Orlando veterans fighting tonight. His presence on a card guarantees huge attention and revenue when fans and cameras behold his verbal gifts, which were in sharp form at this week’s news conference. The difficulty for Diaz is that McGregor is so hard to prepare for as he just comes out with new moves in every fight. “I’m going to eat you alive in there and your little gazelle friends are going to be staring through the cage at your carcass getting eaten alive”.
Holm and Tate grinned as they watched from the stage while McGregor and Diaz lobbed insults at each other.
He’s tapped into people’s emotions. There was no hesitation on my part, I was ready to rock the whole time.
When lightweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos had to pull out of the main event with a broken foot, it was undoubtedly disappointing.
When McGregor was asked if he’d changed his approach to the fight when Diaz was named as his opponent, he gave a typically disparaging reply. With his experience and solid fighting style, the 30 year old Diaz could prove to be a very tough challenge for the Irish fan favorite. The fight didn’t go exactly how I planned, but the result was what I wanted.
