Minister Ravela’s son in eve-teasing case

Andhra Pradesh minister Ravela Kishore Babu’s son has been accused of harassing a woman, reports CNN-IBN.

Andhra Pradesh Minister Ravela Kishore Babu’s son and his driver were today booked for allegedly molesting a 20-year-old woman teacher in Banjara Hills here, police said.
The action came within hours after police served notice to Sushil under section 41A of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
Police said they will take necessary action after investigation. “If the victim identifies the other person as minister’s son Susheel, we will register case against Susheel and will question him”, DCP, West Zone, A Venkateswar Rao, said. In a written complaint to the Banjara Hills police, the teacher, who identified herself as Fathima Begum, said while she was walking from her residence towards her school she noticed a Toyota Fortuner with a MLA sticker following her. When she thought someone was following her, she quickened her pace.
It is alleged that the AP Social Welfare Minister’s son Susheel and his driver M Ramesh followed the victim in their auto, passed lewd comments and tried to pull her inside the vehicle on Thursday evening.
According to the complaint filed by woman, she says that while returning back home in Hyderabad’s Banjara Hills area she was followed by a auto.
However, the woman raised the alarm following which her husband and some locals gathered at the spot and beat them up. They also threatened to hold a demonstration in front of the police station if their demands are not met. Locals took the vehicle to the police station and the case was booked against Susheel and his driver Appa Rao under Nirbhaya Act (IPC 354 D), for stalking the woman.
Some television channels broke the story on Friday and reported that the minister’s son was not named in the FIR.
While Susheel claimed innocence and alleged that the case was “politically motivated”, his father said police probe will reveal the truth and he will “not interfere” in the matter.
The complainant and relatives demanded immediate arrest of the minister’s son.
