Conor McGregor has pledged to take his UFC 196 defeat to Nate Diaz “like a man” after a night of upsets in Las Vagas.

However, Diaz didn’t allow him time and delivered a nasty Rear-Naked choke to hand “The Notorious” his first defeat in the UFC.
Diaz and Tate had plans of their own.
Considering the circumstances of the this fight-short notice, fought at 170 pounds-it will be interesting to see what this means for each fighter moving forward.
“I knew I was the superior boxer, with superior kickboxing, with superior jiu-jitsu”, said Diaz, who had lost five of his previous 10 fights. “If I would have had a full camp, I don’t think I would have been touched”. She will try to keep from standing and banging it out with the more technical champion. She’s tougher than nails. But if I’m not in the best shape, I’ve got to start slow and pick up as I go.
Since the day the fight was announced, the pair traded barbs and engaged in a near-brawl after a press conference.
The Crumlin native is now planning on defending his featherweight crown. “This is part of the game”. “All they can say is they’re never going to cross this river again”. I took the fight and it didn’t pay off. This is the fight business.
McGregor, who was making his debut in the UFC’s welterweight division, controlled the first round and bloodied Diaz with several shuddering left hooks.
“There’s a new king of this mother–, and he’s right here”, said Diaz afterward.
McGregor swung hard and early, connecting with punches and a hard leg kick, but Diaz withstood the onslaught despite being cut above the eye. “I had to be patient”. “She’s capable of catching anyone at any time”. It has been estimated that Holm earned about $180,000 in fight purse, bonuses and her share from the Reebok deal.
Holm, who won the belt in November with a shocking victory over Ronda Rousey, was making her first title defense. Holm landed a few good punches, but that was about it. The second round is where things started to pick up. Almost two minutes in, Tate finally managed to pin Holm against the cage, but Holm escaped.
As many were expecting, it was a thoroughly entertaining fight from the get-go. “I have so much respect for this woman”, the 29-year-old Tate told the octagon announcer as she received the belt.
