A 19-year-old man is dead and several others are injured after a shooting at a party in Chelsea.
The lone fatality in the shooting was from Chelsea and was in his late teens, according to a release from the Suffolk District Attorney’s Office.
The shooting took place just before 2:45 a.m. during a party at a vacant apartment in a building on Washington Avenue. One man was taken was taken to Whidden Memorial Hospital where he died.
Responding officers found seven people with apparent gunshot wounds and one person with injuries unrelated to gunfire.
Authorities are withholding his identity pending notification of his family.
Seven other victims were transported from the scene with injures that were not believed to be life-threatening, authorities said. “No further information is yet available on the surviving victims”. The television station reports three males, ages 15, 18 and 22, and three females, ages 15, 17, 18 were hurt.
