And Adele’s dulcet tones have such a pull that they’ve even been listened to in outer space, as proven by astronaut Tim Peake when he presented her with the Global Success gong during the live BRIT Awards ceremony on Wednesday night. Kudos, though, to Adele for winning four times at the Brit Awards 2016, for kissing Justin Bieber, and… for getting away with that censored acceptance speech.

James Bay was named British Male Solo Artist, while Coldplay won British Group.
He concluded his speed by saying: “David you were mortal, but your potential was super human, and your remarkable music is living on”.
The star also took home the British Female Solo Artist and Best British Single awards. “We love you and we thank you”, Oldman said.
The singer Adele was awarded an honorary award from the International Space Station (ISS) on Wednesday at the 36th Brit Awards ceremony.

Bjork accepted the award for best worldwide female solo artist by video, in a headdress which partially obscured her face. The “Hello” singer said, “Thank you”.
Chris Martin and co now have nine trophies to their name, although the figure pales in comparison to Robbie Williams’ 17 awards (12 as a solo artist and five with Take That).
Her third album, 25, became the UK’s biggest-selling number one album in chart history on release in November and debuted at number one in more than 25 countries around the world, notching up over 15 million global sales. On the bill at this year’s bash were worldwide stars Rihanna and Justin Bieber, as well as home-grown artists James Bay and Coldplay.
Bieber was named best worldwide male artist and told the audience “this just shows life is a journey” and added “everyone has their ups and downs”.
