Five O’Clock Steakhouse Featured in Best Eats Book, Hosts Author Book Signing

Press Release

The Five O’Clock Steakhouse restaurant located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, has been featured in author Ron Faiola’s new book named “Wisconsin Supper Clubs; Another Round.” The book has been called a sequel to Ron’s first called “Wisconsin Supper Clubs: An Old Fashioned Experience.” Ron Faiola is a Milwaukee director and author who has researched and reported on supper club style restaurant, particularly throughout the Wisconsin state.

The Five O’ Clock Steakhouse was formerly known as Coerper’s Five O’Clock Club and has been in business since the 1940s. The restaurant is one of the few to uphold the traditional supper club atmosphere, as managing partner Stelio Kalkounos states that he likes “mixing the old with the new,” for a more authentic feel. The restaurant has maintained the supper club atmosphere and has nationally praised steaks dinners included in its repertoire. As one of the last of the breed of dying supper clubs, Ron has favorably shown the Five O’Clock Steakhouse as well as many other existing supper clubs in the state, and how they are considered a tradition, versus the pop-up chain restaurants that now dominate the market. Ron goes on to talk about the supper club survival rate in the Midwest, offering an “upscale -yet-communal dining experience,” with the few that remain.
